European Heritage Open Days will take place on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September. During the weekend, many of Armagh’s historic and fascinating buildings will open their doors and allow free access to visitors. Among those participating are Armagh Public Library which boasts over five hundred years of books in a magnificent Georgian setting, the beautiful Palace Demesne which was once the home of Archbishop Richard Robinson, the two magnificent Saint Patricks Cathedral’s, one of Ireland’s most importance archaeological sites, Navan Centre & Fort and Ireland’s leading centre for Astronomical education, Armagh Planetarium, to name a few.
Armagh Gaol, which is not usually accessible to the public, will also open its doors each day for a series of guided tours.
